With its 20 miles, Birch lake is a long serpentine wilderness river-lake, is easy to navigate, and at all times you can view the other shoreline for confident navigation. With 90% of Birch Lake being undeveloped wilderness seclusion, and a multitude of bays, inlets, coves, and islands there is much to explore via motorized watercraft.   Fishing pressure is low due to the expanse of the lake and the 90% federally owned shoreline and we often say: “If you see another boat or two in an hour on Birch, we call that busy!”

4-Hour half day trips

The most popular guided boat and motor trip is the four hour option which provides time to tour the lake and become acclimated to the specific inlets, bay, coves, and other areas to be fished during the rest of your stay, as well as to learn some fishing techniques from the experienced guide.

• Half Day (4 hours): $415 for 1-2 persons.    Additional Person: $50

Also offered are 6-Hour Guided Fishing Trips and Full Day 8-Hour Guided Fishing Trips. Consider adding on a Shore Lunch with the 8-Hour Trip. Our guides are exceptional anglers, and pride themselves on their ability to find fish. They are also excellent cooks and prepare a shore lunch you will not soon forget. DARK SKY SANCTUARY SURROUNDS RIVER POINT

The 1.1 million acres Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness directly adjacent to River Point Resort & Outfitting Co. was designated a Dark Sky Sanctuary in September, 2020 which is the first such designation in Minnesota. And, the BWCA is only the 13th location in the world to be officially designated for the quality of its night skies and it is the largest site designated to date.
