Golden Eagle Lodge

Welcome to Golden Eagle Lodge, a family oriented, year round resort. We are located on Flour Lake in the Superior National Forest of Northeastern Minnesota, halfway up the historic Gunflint Trail. As the only residents on the lake, you can look forward to quiet and solitude. We offer fully equipped, modern housekeeping cabins to ensure comfort during your stay in the North Woods.

Cabins #1 – #10 are lake-shore cabins and each have their own private dock, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Each of these cabins are finished in rich knotty pine paneling. All cabins are spaced for privacy and come with a deck and/or screen porch, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, toaster, modern bathroom with bath and wash towels, bed linens, and refrigerator/freezer. WiFi is also available in select cabins and in the main lodge building. All Golden Eagle Lodge cabins are smoke free. Deluxe with whirlpool tubs, pet friendly/pet free, and barrier free cabins available.

Camp like you’re right outside the BWCA…. because you are! We have a small 9 site campground with water & electric hook ups (20, 30, & 50 amp service). Each site has a picnic table & fire ring. The sites sit among Pine, Birch and Aspen, all well spaced to allow for privacy. A heated modern bath house with hot showers and dump station is available.

Activities abound! Hit the water and take advantage of complete boat/motor, canoe, kayak, & pontoon rentals or relax and enjoy our sand swimming beach. We also offer a nature center with activities for all ages and weekly teepee campfires. Over 30 miles of hiking trails begin right from the resort grounds with many opportunities for beautiful and scenic views! Enjoy fishing? Flour Lake has walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout, northern, perch, and herring. Area lakes, within 5 miles, have brook trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie. We have boats available on other lakes too!

Winter… we are a Nordic Ski Center, “silent sports only” resort! Ski from your cabin door onto our private network of 70 kilometers of “PistenBully” groomed ski trails. All trails are tracked for traditional skiing and skate skiing. Enjoy our twinkle light lit night ski trail too! We built our trail system specifically for cross country skiing with trails ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Our location puts us at the height of the Laurentian Divide which gives us a dependable average of about 100” of snowfall each season. There are several miles of snowshoe trails in the area as well, some of which you can get to right from the lodge property. Don’t have any equipment? We have complete ski and snowshoe rentals as well as heated waxing room.
